I really have been very patient about the weather…hardly complaining at all but today I’ve lost my resolve to not complain about the weather anymore. It’s time to clean up the hoophouse beds for this summer’s tomato crop and because I didn’t grow any winter/early spring greens in the hoophouse this year, I ignored the beds (too busy with pea shoot and sunflower shoot greens production in the glass greenhouse)…..’til now. It’s time to plant some more potatoes so we’ll have delicious little new potatoes for end of June and July. I found this heart potato while I was sorting through my box of French Fingerling seed. A good omen for April Fool’s Day! These 50lb. boxes are full of Sieglinde and Blue Russian seed potatoes. [. . .]
hellebores are beautiful
I never really thought I liked hellebores that much but then one day a couple years ago, I saw a photo of a bouquet someone made with them and I changed my mind. Now I realize they are a magnificent addition to my garden and I love having such a flowery sort of flower blooming [. . .]
